Program description:

The student who graduates from this program will be well prepared academically to work as a special education teacher in the elementary and secondary levels. This program will develop citizens with the base knowledge of the behavior and development of human beings, especially of special children and adolescents. The student who pursues this major, develops the necessary skills, knowledge, and values to manage the professional demands of this field, conforming to the sensibility, laws and legislation that protect this population. Through this program, the educator is expected to contribute to improving the quality of life of the special population, to develop effective communication skills, and identify solutions for social problems. In addition, the educator is expected to develop an attitude of comprehension and tolerance towards cultural diversity, and respect towards human beings.
